A short nap in between taking photos in Joshua Tree National Park

On our way to Joshua Tree (see my post from yesterday) we stopped at Pappy & Harriet’s, an excellent restaurant/music venue in Pioneertown, California. Started out as an old movie set built in the 1940s, Pioneertown is in the middle of no where, so I was surprised when looking at the show posters on the wall by some of the artists who have played there. After the meal and enjoying the atmosphere for a while, though, the place had its hold on me. I can see why it might be an escape for some outside of Joshua Tree, and hopefully this was not my last visit!

Dylan and I flew to Los Angeles in February to visit friends of ours before traveling on to Las Vegas for the WPPI (Wedding and Portrait Photographers International) Convention. We stayed with our good friend Andrea, who I met years ago when I lived in Los Angeles and have become ever closer to in the years since. One of the highlights of the trip was driving to Joshua Tree to take photographs, where the three of us possibly took more pictures of each other than we did of the trees. It’s sometimes fun to be on the other side.

I’m still looking forward to getting the film developed, (and to seeing some of Andrea and Dylan’s photos – maybe we can make a collage) but in the meantime, I thought I’d share some of my favorite digital shots.
