Meagan and George live in Massachusetts these days. But Meagan is from the Milwaukee area, and she came home to get hitched. And there is no venue that is more iconically Milwaukee to do that than the South Shore Pavilion, with it’s great history, views of the Milwaukee skyline, all beautifully set in Bayview’s South Shore Park.
These are from another shoot I did for Alverno Presents‘ upcoming season. This one features Tarik Moody (@RadioMilwaukee), a DJ at 88Nine Radio Milwaukee. He is curating a show that celebrates Marvin Gaye’s record “Here, My Dear” that will feature other musicians–one of whom, Aleta, joined us at Acme Records in Bayview for the shoot. I loved shooting there. Ken, the owner of the record store, paneled all the walls with reclaimed wood he has salvaged over the years.

I recently photographed Nick Sanborn (Made of Oak, Megafaun) for the upcoming season of Alverno Presents. Nick will be narrating a performance that features many of the artists he’s worked with over the years in North Carolina, Wisconsin, and perhaps beyond, describing their meetings, connections, and the community they have made. Kat has been so busy running the business and caring for a little baby that she’s had little spare time to post the many pictures we’ve taken of Ms. Ida for fans and family. So, as a dutiful husband and father (and assisting photographer), I’m taking on that job for myself. (We have some film to scan and share, as well, and if Ida lets us put her down long enough to do it, we’ll be posting some more photos soon.)
